Acknowledgemnt of Country
In the spirit of reconciliation, Starshine Hotel acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
Starshine Hotel opporates in Jellurgal, which is the unceded sovereign lands of the Yugambeh speaking peoples, part of the Bundjalung Nation.
Always was, always will be Aboriginal Land.
Land back everywhere.
Sustainibility & Ethics
Starshine Hotel is a brand commited to sustiainibility and it is at the forfront of what we do. Starshine was originally formed in 2022 when I (Sarah, owner) couldnt find any bloomers that were made of natural fibres. I found some fabric and taught myself how to make them, other women began to ask me to also make them a pair and there formed the begining of Starshine Hotel.
We use cotton, although it isnt a perfect fibre, it breaks down easy and can return to the earth. A made to order system means we are never over producing.
Our 1of1 project (coming soon) is another bid at sustainibility, it is our effort to prevent clothing from going to landfill, we take scrap fabric and unwanted clothing and give them a new life by turning them into unique pieces that can be loved and adorned and hopefully passed on as years go on.
Keeping fashion circular for its entire life cycle is important to us, therefore we aim to use only natural fibres whereever possible even in our 1of1 project.
